American Legion Ambulance Service is looking for self-motivated individuals with a strong desire to serve their community. American Legion Ambulance has a long tradition of service to our community since 1929.

Our purpose is to develop our team members through a culture of education, recognition and opportunity.  We promote leadership by recognizing individuals from within our agency that embody our mission to provide the highest quality care to our community.  We sponsor our EMTs through medic programs of their choosing and provide internships and scheduling support to ensure their success.  Our paramedics and EMTs have opportunities to grow into field training officers.  Our paramedics have opportunities to excel in alternate supervisor and lead shift supervisor roles.  Being part of a smaller organization means you are not just an employee number, but you are valued as an individual.

Come enjoy working in a beautiful area of the Sierra Foothills with a lower call volume than valley and bay area agencies. American Legion Ambulance has exclusive operating areas in Amador and Calaveras counties.  We serve a population of 80,000 over 1,400 square miles ranging from 200ft to 9,400ft elevations.  We staff eight 24-hour units and one 12 hour unit daily.  We provide ALS and BLS response to 911 calls and Interfacility transports.  All of our units share the 911 and interfacility assignments equally.  Our terrain, our patient demographics and exclusivity for 911 offers a diverse range of calls for service to challenge and strengthen your skills.

Full Time employees work a 48/96 schedule and respond out of fully equipped ambulance stations.  Our zone coverage areas allow us to utilize our stations as posting sites instead of posting in public places.
